Who we are?
Eshet Children and Youth Development Organization (ECYDO) is a local Civil Society youth-led/focused Organization (CSO) that was founded and legally registered under the Ministry of Justice in the year 2001 as a result of a volunteer initiative of young women and men.
Our vision is a safe, clean and happy environment to grow in for every child, adolescent, and youth in Ethiopia, with access to education, health services, and equal opportunities.
What do we do?
ECYDO ECYDO strives for an Ethiopia with equal opportunities for girls and boys, for an Ethiopia without HIV/AIDS and gender-based violence. ECYDO strives for an Ethiopia where children and young people can develop and live up to their potential, where nobody is left behind. The main areas of intervention of ECYDO are Male engagement in HIV/AIDS and GBV prevention; Adolescent and Youth sexual and reproductive health rights promotion; Women’s/Girl’s socio-economic Empowerment through fight against Gender-Based Violence including Female Genital Mutilation, early marriage, and teenage pregnancy; Children Development including Child Health; Promotion of Meaningful Youth Participation and Youth Leadership Development; Advocate for the right of social, political and economic entitlement of children, youth and Girl’s/Women’s; Promote peace, peacebuilding, and peaceful coexistence, Creation of employment opportunities and skills development; Removal of barriers in accessing education and services, and Environmental Protection.
