Position: We are looking for Marketing Lead/Team Lead for our new social media site.
Location: Remote (Weekly Zoom Meetings)
About Us:
DEFEND is a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to reducing risks for children and vulnerable people online. We are currently building 65square, the world’s healthiest social media and dating platform, designed with game-like features and characteristics of an MMO. Our goal is to create a safer, more positive online space for users.
Role Description:
The Marketing Lead will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to promote our new social media site. This role requires a creative thinker with strong leadership skills who can effectively communicate our mission and engage diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will have experience in digital marketing, social media management, and non-profit outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement a marketing strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives.
Conduct market research to identify target audiences and understand their needs.
Set measurable goals for marketing campaigns and track performance against these metrics.
Content Development:
Oversee the creation of engaging content tailored for various platforms, including blog posts, videos, infographics, and social media updates.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure messaging is consistent across all channels.
Social Media Management:
Manage the organization’s presence on major social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
Develop a content calendar that includes regular postings, promotions, and community engagement activities.
Monitor social media trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
Community Engagement:
Foster relationships with community members, influencers, and other organizations to enhance visibility and support.
Organize online events or campaigns that encourage user participation on the new platform.
Analytics & Reporting:
Utilize analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts.
Prepare regular reports on campaign performance and provide insights for future initiatives.
Collaboration & Leadership:
Lead a team of marketing professionals (if applicable) or coordinate with volunteers to execute marketing plans.
Work closely with other departments (e.g., fundraising, program development) to align marketing efforts with organizational priorities.
Budget Management:
Assist in developing the marketing budget; monitor expenditures to ensure effective use of resources.
Qualifications:
MUST be 18 years and above.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience in marketing or communications roles; experience in non-profit sector is highly desirable.
Proven track record of successful digital marketing campaigns.
Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
Proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
