DEFEND is a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to reducing risks for children and vulnerable people online. We are currently building 65square, the world’s healthiest social media and dating platform, designed with game-like features and characteristics of an MMO. Our goal is to create a safer, more positive online space for users.
Role Description:
We are seeking a skilled Database Architect/Modeler with extensive experience in NoSQL databases to join our non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust database solutions that support our mission-driven initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of NoSQL technologies and the ability to translate complex data requirements into scalable database architectures.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development:
Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications to create comprehensive marketing plans that align with the organization’s goals.
Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and target demographics.
Content Creation:
Develop compelling content for various platforms including social media, newsletters, press releases, and the organization’s website.
Ensure all content reflects the organization’s voice and mission.
Campaign Management:
Plan, execute, and monitor advertising campaigns across multiple channels (digital, print, radio).
Analyze campaign performance metrics to assess effectiveness and optimize future efforts.
Social Media Management:
Manage the organization’s social media accounts by creating engaging posts that promote events, fundraising efforts, and community engagement.
Monitor social media interactions and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
Community Engagement:
Build relationships with local businesses, community leaders, and other stakeholders to enhance visibility and support for the organization.
Organize promotional events or outreach activities to raise awareness about the organization’s mission.
Fundraising Support:
Assist in developing marketing materials for fundraising campaigns.
Collaborate with the development team to ensure alignment between marketing strategies and fundraising goals.
Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare regular reports on marketing activities, outcomes, and insights for review by senior management.
Utilize analytics tools to track website traffic, social media engagement, and campaign success rates.
Qualifications
MUST be 18 years and above.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field.
Experience in marketing or advertising; experience in non-profit sector preferred.
Proficiency in digital marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media platforms).
Strong writing skills with attention to detail; ability to create persuasive messaging.
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus but not required.
