We are currently building 65square, the world’s healthiest social media and dating platform, designed with game-like features and characteristics of an MMO. Our goal is to create a safer, more positive online space for users.
Role Description:
The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring that all systems are secure, reliable, and efficient. This role involves supporting users, implementing new technologies, and ensuring that the organization’s data is protected. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to supporting the mission of our non-profit.
Key Responsibilities:
System Management:
Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows/Linux) and network equipment.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Ensure regular updates and patches are applied to all systems.
User Support:
Provide technical support to staff members for hardware and software issues.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with organizational policies.
Conduct training sessions for staff on new technologies or software applications.
Network Administration:
Oversee network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Implement security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access.
Maintain documentation of network configurations and changes.
Data Management:
Ensure regular backups of critical data are performed and tested for recovery.
Assist in the development of disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in case of system failures.
Monitor data storage solutions to ensure optimal performance.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Collaborate with external vendors for hardware/software procurement and support services.
Participate in strategic planning for future technology initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
Compliance & Security:
Stay informed about industry best practices regarding cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) as applicable to the organization’s operations.
Conduct regular security audits and assessments of systems.
Qualifications:
MUST be 18 years and above.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
Proven experience as an IT Systems Administrator or similar role (3+ years preferred).
Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and networking protocols (TCP/IP).
Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
