About Us:
DEFEND is a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to reducing risks for children and vulnerable people online. We are currently building 65square, the world’s healthiest social media and dating platform, designed with game-like features and characteristics of an MMO. Our goal is to create a safer, more positive online space for users.


Role Description:
The Support Group Facilitator / Social Work Student Intern will play a crucial role in our non-profit organization by providing support to individuals facing various challenges. This position is ideal for social work students or recent graduates looking to gain practical experience in group facilitation and community support. The intern will assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of support groups while fostering a safe and inclusive environment for participants.


Key Responsibilities:
Customer Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners and stakeholders.
Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to partnerships, events, and marketing initiatives.
Address partner concerns promptly and effectively to ensure satisfaction and retention.
Event Coordination:
Assist in planning, organizing, and executing various events including workshops, conferences, and fundraising activities.
Coordinate logistics such as venue selection, catering services, audiovisual needs, and transportation arrangements.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all event materials are prepared in advance.
Marketing Support:
Support the development of marketing materials including brochures, newsletters, social media content, and email campaigns.
Help implement marketing strategies aimed at increasing awareness of the organization’s mission among businesses.
Track engagement metrics from marketing campaigns to assess effectiveness.
Data Management:
Maintain accurate records of partner interactions and event participation using CRM software.
Generate reports on partnership performance and event outcomes for management review.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments (e.g., Development, Communications) to align efforts in achieving organizational goals.
Participate in team meetings to share insights on customer feedback and market trends.
Training & Development:
Stay informed about industry trends related to non-profit marketing and customer service best practices.
Attend relevant training sessions or workshops to enhance skills pertinent to the role.
Qualifications:
MUST be 18 years and above.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field preferred.
Experience in customer service or support roles within a B2B environment; experience in non-profit sector is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on professionalism.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
A passion for non-profit work and commitment to the organization’s mission.
