Description
ABOUT US: Founded in 2023, ChromaLearn is dedicated to empowering underprivileged youth through quality education, fostering growth through guidance and mentorship, and providing exposure to invaluable knowledge and opportunities—all while ensuring everything remains free and accessible. In our first year, we have laid a strong foundation by assembling a team of passionate professionals alongside high school and college students, creating a unique dynamic for making a meaningful impact. We initiated a free online 1-on-1 tutoring with successful high school student tutors. Although we mainly focus on the students in the United States, we have tutored students in other countries as well. Currently, we are developing a blog feature designed to share meaningful lessons and to serve as a database for valuable opportunities that everyone can access. We aim to expand our services and launch helpful programs to change the lives of our future generations.

Duties & Projects: Our website currently needs a (1)Junior and (1)Senior Web Developer to regularly manage, update, and add new features to it. The current and ongoing projects/tasks would be -

2. Creating a resource page (like a blog post/forum) for anyone to contribute free resources and opportunities free for everyone, including underprivileged youth.
3. Updating & Improving the tutor page by implementing booking features. (Goal: make it super easy and quick to book a session, automatically or manually pair students with tutors)
4. Work closely with UI/UX designers to translate design specifications into high-quality, responsive, and accessible user interfaces.
5. Oversee the website and develop new features on the website for new projects in the future, potentially leading to promotion to a full CTO title & responsibilities in the long term

Qualifications & Experience Necessary for the Role:

- Familiarity and/or ability to use Wordpress, Tailwind, Astro, Vercel, GitHub, Astro, Digitalocean for Directus app + database + s3 storage(not configured) + caching(not configured)

Volunteer Benefits: We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is fully run by an unpaid/volunteer staff. Although volunteers are not given a direct monetary stipend for their time commitment, our team members choose to volunteer with us for various reasons that include but are not limited to – gaining experience for their resume, to learn about the inner workings of a nonprofit, they desire to take part in community service, they want to pursue an opportunity to build out current/new skills, the networking aspects of volunteering, or they simply resonate with the mission/cause of our organization as a whole.
